You know, it didn't just poof into existence. It was initially known as, hold on to your horses, Saint-Joseph College, a sparkling gem of Acadian Academia. Here, young minds dabbled with diverse disciplines, from arts to sciences.
Fast forward to 1963, and a magnificent metamorphosis is afoot! It's the wind of change, mate! The humble Saint-Joseph College expands its horizons and transforms into the first and only, drumroll please, French language University of New Brunswick! The torch of knowledge, now brighter than ever.
By chiffon dawn of 1972, the landscape of the university had shifted dramatically. Now, it was not just one but three campuses dazzling with wisdom and opportunities! Moncton, the main campus, Edmundston and Shippagan were where the action was and still is, ladies and gents.
Making waves in the academic world, in 1987, our University of Moncton unflinchingly set a blazing trail. The then heart pounding rector, Adélard Savoie, took a bold step and established a Faculty of Law, wooing prospective whiz-kids from across the globe.
