Back in the day of 1987 - not much to shout about, eh? - scratch that, a momentous year it was! Picture a motley crew of regular folk, educators, and local leaders, sipping their morning chai in the small town of Prince George, BC, setting the cogs in motion for the inception of UNBC.
Now, hold onto your hats. That motley crew of Morning Chai Society was persistent as a mule. For a good couple of years, they powered through - dotting the i's, crossing the t's, facing the naysayers, until finally, magic happened. In 1990, the wee little British Columbia Legislative Assembly struck gold, passing the UNBC Act, and voila, UNBC was born!
