To this end, they cheekily founded the Birmingham Government School of Design. This was possibly the earliest seed in the rich educational tapestry of what we today call Birmingham City University.
Fast forward to 1971, it was an era of bell-bottoms, disco, and apparently educational revolution. This was the year the then Birmingham Polytechnic was created. It was more than just a place for lecture halls and textbooks, it was a launchpad for students from across the globe, a place where they could grab the bull by the horns and pursue their academic dreams.
