And just like that, The Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM) was born, soaring like a phoenix from the ashes, or in this case, musical notes from a drum beat.
So, drums rolling as we take you into the first major milestone. In its young-and-tender years (1997, to be precise), the ACM became the first-ever educational establishment to provide students with modern electronic drum kits. Imagine that, practicing your beats without causing a neighborhood uproar!
Then, in 1998, ACM got a cherry on top moment. Opened by the Queen herself, the institution won the prestigious Queen's Award for Enterprise. Yes, the same Queen who loves her Corgis and pastel outfits! The air probably echoed with "Long Live the Queen and contemporary music!"
