Now pay attention, because this pint-sized college was the seed that would sprout into the big tree we call today, the University of the West of England. This college had a mission, it wanted to bring technical education to the eager youth of Bristol.
You see, the Bristol Society of Merchant Venturers had some big dreams. They wanted to whip up the brain-boiling subjects of navigation, commerce, and manufacturing into engaging and fun schooling. Well, well, it looks like nothing's changed in ol' Bristol, the city has always been an incubator for the ambitious young minds, hasn't it?
