History University of Lincoln

The story of the University of Lincoln packs a punch like a good Bollywood drama - it has suspense, action, and a dash of inspiration too. Buckle up, and let's time travel through Lincoln's history, shall we?

Let's start the tale with some numbers. In the beginning, there was none - no university at all, only an Art and Technology school. This was way back in 1861, an elk's age ago, and it was the first stepping stone. But, hey, every Taj Mahal starts with one brick, doesn't it?

Zooming into the 1960s, things started to shake up. Hull College of Higher Education saw Lincoln as the perfect partner for their new love affair. A collaborative connection was formed giving way to ‘The University Centre at Lincoln’. Ah, not quite a university yet, but we're getting to that.

Whoosh! Now we're in the '90s. Baggy jeans, colourful music videos, and excitement in the air! Our Lincoln was ready for the big leagues! October '92 saw 'The University of Humberside' backing up the previous ally in providing higher education vibes. The Bhangra dance had begun.

Aha! The plot thickens. In 1996, Lincoln and Humberside went full Bollywood hero mode and grandly acquired a city centre location decked out with learning and recreational facilities. The massive campus was opened in 2001 by none other than Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. How's that for a little spice in the tale?

By 2001, Lincoln got the "University" in its name, becoming "University of Lincoln." So, no more dates with Humberside. It was officially, totally, its own institution! There may have been dancing in the streets - can’t confirm, but it's nice to imagine!

Just like a proper masala movie script, there were a few twists in the tale. 2001 also saw some upgrading. New areas of study were added and 'The Brayford Pool Campus' was shaken up. Record scratch - what's that? A campus with a waterfront, how cool is that? Like Marine Drive but for books!

As the years passed, Uncle Lincoln kept evolving. The university both displayed and honed the skills of its students, just like a good guru. Research intensified, new lines of study were added, and by 2020, Lincoln held a whopping 14,000+ students from around the world.

So, there you have it! A tale of humble beginnings, brave ventures, and rising to the top. Like a classic Shah Rukh Khan story - the underdog steals the show, standing tall in the end. University of Lincoln is not just a place of education, it's a place of inspiration! And remember, behind every successful student is a caffeinated one!

So, get your chai ready, pack your bags and hold on to your cultural values like Anil Kapoor to his moustache, as we take this exciting journey with the University of Lincoln!
