This wasn't Legret's first tryst with the idea of business education; he had previously founded two business schools in Paris, but fortune frowned, and they closed almost as soon as they opened.
ESCP Business School surfaced as a humble, unpretentious reflection of the eminent École Polytechnique, itself a brainchild of the brilliant Lazare Carnot and Gaspard Monge.
