The seeds were sown by bunch of clever blokes, and this determined ensemble called themselves the University College of Swansea. Hold on! Wait! Why? They wanted to create an institution that reflected the industry and innovation of their beloved Swansea. Not too shabby, right?
Then our evolving hero, the university, was gifted something special by King George V in ‘25. Eye brows raised, right? This is where our tale gets meaty! The gift wasn't jewels or any riches. Nope. It was something way better - a Royal Charter. Official recognition from the crown—instantly catapulting our University College into the big leagues!
