Around 13 years earlier, in the historic town of Penzance, another educational institution had come into being. Penwith College, as it was named then, began its journey in 1980 as Penwith Sixth Form College. It reinvented itself in 1990, assuming its fresh identity as Penwith College, a tertiary education pioneer in the region.
