But, who was the mastermind behind this remarkable institution? Credit goes to Reverend Samuel E. McCorkle, the remarkable genius who contributed to the concept of the University. He shared this dream with William R.Davie, a gentleman whose relentless determination was crucial for the university's establishment. Their friendship and collaborate endeavours kicked this dream into a reality.
Wait up now, the story is getting more interesting. The first cornerstone of the University, Old East, was laid in October 1793. In 1795, the university opened its doors to the first batch of students, swirling with excitement and curiosity. And guess what?
