They found sanctum in the United States, far away from the fierce waves of anti-clericalism that were haunting their homeland, France. It was their courage, back in those days, which laid the foundation for Saint Michael's College's astonishing saga.
Fast forward to 1904, the saga took a monumental turn. With just $5,000 in hand, they founded the Saint Michael's Institute. It was a humble beginning indeed, with merely 34 students dipping their toes into learning, their age ranging from 10 to 22. Each aspiring scholar forked out a modest fee of $105 for tuition and board.

Led by then-president Bernard Boutin, the board approved the proposal to transition into a co-educational institution.
