Our tale begins in the year 1974. One fine day, a visionary named Dr. John South woke up and thought, "Well, why not start a university?" He wasn't joking around, and that's how South University, a beacon of light in the realm of higher education, came into existence.
Do you know what’s funny though? They started with a handful of students! Just 9 to be precise. But power-packed with potential, they were, like tiny dynamite sticks ready to explode into a world of opportunities.
It wasn't flowers and sunshine right from the start, though. Here's a lesser-known fact - the university initially faced a bit of flak for "thinking out of the box". But you know what they say, right? No pain, no gain. The tough approach and an out-of-the-box educational method were actually met with a lot of ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’.
Fast forward to 1986. Here's when the tide began to turn, and how. The novel approach started getting the nod and the university gained regional accreditation. And that, my friends, was just the beginning of a ride that only went uphill.
