Once upon a time, right in the heart of New York, in 1865, there was a bloke named Bishop John Loughlin. This chap had a dream, nothing fancy, just a vision to educate the youth of the city. So, he decided to ‘put on his thinking cap’ and with the 'apple of his eye,' the Roman Catholic Church, put a foundation stone down. Boom! Like magic, the Brooklyn-based St. John's College popped up.
You see, Loughlin had a mantra, "educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all." He was, what you call, a man of 'true grit.' Fast-forward to 1907, the college took a 'rain check' on being just an ordinary institution - that’s when the School of Pharmacy appeared, making a right kerfuffle in the education sector. It was quite a feather in their cap!
