Well, it was due to a man named Abraham Lincoln. Yep, the same famous chap who was the 16th President of America! He signed the Morrill Act which led to the foundation of OSU. Lincoln's goal? Moving on, the freshman batch back in those days, it included just 24 students. But within a couple of decades, the student community blossomed to almost 2,000! Now that's what you call hitting a growth spurt!
