Well, they founded a small institution named 'Training School for Christian Workers', tucked away in the bustling heart of California.
When was it renamed as 'Azusa Pacific University', I hear you ask? It's a wild story, hold onto your hats! The turning point happened in 1939. A dashing man known as Cornelius P. Haggard, caught hold of this institution's reins, leading it as the President for a whopping 36 years!
Now, the gears really started turning. Mr. Haggard, ever the go-getter, stirred up quite an educational spree. His sheer determination nudged up the status of this training school to an accredited college by 1961. Wham, bam, thank you madam! It was now the 'Azusa Pacific College'.
