But hey, every hero has his team, right? With him, was a group of passionate educators, united by a common dream - to make higher education accessible, affordable, but still, kickass exciting!
North Seattle College took its baby steps with only 800 students, but that didn't stop it from looking sharp and shiny. The college's first campus wasn't your extravagant place either. We are talking old supermarket buildings revamped into classrooms and a library. It wasn't the dreamy castle but it had the vibe of a phoenix ready to rise.
Remember the beloved Charles H. Mitchell, the man with a heart as golden as his vision. In the 80s, he took on the presidential mantle and led the institution into an age of technological transformation. He championed the cause of computer education; in the time when Bollywood was losing itself in the charm of "Disco Dancer", Mitchell was busy giving a tangible shape to the cut-and-dry world of 0s and 1s for his students.
