Now this fella had a wild dream, to gift the great state of Texas its first public college. This dream, let me tell you, it had more spark than a physics lab and more potential than a pack of algebraic equations. It wasn't until six years later, in 1876, that Thomas's dream was all set to become as real as a chemistry test.
Picture this. There's a patch of land, about 2,416 acres, sitting pretty in the heart of Brazos County.
