Back in 1890, an institution named Post College came into existence. Its primary focus was to train individuals in bookkeeping, typing, and business acumen - skills crucial to the era. Just seven years later, in 1897, a visionary by the name of Harry C. Post took ownership of the institution. His first act as the new principal was to give the school a new identity - Waterbury Business College.
Then, 1931 saw another pivotal moment when the institution was rechristened again, reclaiming its original namesake - Post College. This name would remain till 1990, a testament to Harry C. Post’s enduring legacy. Post College kept innovating and expanding throughout the ages, both in terms of physical campus and scholarly offerings.
Fast forward to 1965, the educational institution relocated to its present setting on Country Club Road in Waterbury, Connecticut. It was Harold B. Leever, the then chair of the board of trustees, who played a critical role in this relocation. Today, his legacy is recognized in the form of the Leever Student Center bearing his name.
