Speaking of the early days, you won’t believe it, the first batch consisted of only 8, yes, just 8 students! Now from 8 souls, the college boasts about 33,000 brave heart brainiacs, quite a leap, eh?
They say as time flies, the college saw a name makeover. So, when the mighty America declared independence, the name "King's College" wasn’t a hot favourite anymore. It was time to step away from the British roots and at the stroke of 1784, voila, it re-emerged as Columbia College. That's how our today's lion heart Columbia got its roar.
