Over a century ago, in the hustle and bustle of downtown Columbus, Ohio, a seed was planted in the form of the YMCA School of Commerce. This seed, founded under the umbrella of the coveted Downtown YMCA, in 1902, would grow into the illustrious Franklin University. Briefly glimpsing back, it was in 1933 that the university adopted its current name and by 1964, the cordial ties with YMCA were amicably severed.
Rolling the timelines a little forward to 1969, Franklin University proudly opened the gates of its first building, Frasch Hall. Almost a decade later, in 1976, Franklin's educational pursuit was rewarded with regional accreditation from the distinguished North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
The university nobody's progress did not halt there. In the year 1993, it started offering its first-ever graduate program, the MBA. Believe it or not, he 90’s proved to be a rather eventful decade for the institution. Five years down the line, in 1998, Franklin University came up with an ingenious idea and established the Community College Alliance (CCA). The prime motive was to facilitate the smooth transition of community college students into Franklin by allowing them to transfer a maximum number of community college credits.
Following the soaring success of its CCA initiative, Franklin spread its academic wings further and offered its MBA program in collaboration with WSB Merito Universities in Poland. What started with a single agreement with WSB, has now blossomed into educational pacts with eight different countries.
