You see, it all started in 1906, a memorable year, when Georgia Southern University, initially known as the First District Agricultural & Mechanical School, set out its expedition. Stationed in the friendly town of Statesboro, Georgia, it was barely a grain of what it is today.
But you gotta know, this was no ordinary start. Nope! 14 scholars, earnest as a lark, huddled around their single professor, and from then on, there was no turning back. It was the kind of tale that'd make your heart go "aww".
Come 1924 and things began stirring up. The small school grew up to be the Georgia Normal School, a place to train teachers. Just imagine, a tiny seedling now a modest sapling, ey?
