WLC, as I like to call it, was born small, started their journey with a lean faculty working part-time and a student body of just about two dozen. However, it didn't take long for the college to sprout, and by year two, it had its very first full-time president calling the shots.
Fast forward to the year 1977, the air was abuzz with excitement as WLC purchased a sprawling campus spanning 8.5 acres, complete with five buildings. The strategic location allowed for promising growth and prospects—soon, it wasn't just a college anymore. Infused with a wealth of planning, the seeds for a full-fledged university had been sown.
A significant growth milestone occurred in 1982 as the young institution bought a trove of knowledge, a splendid academic library teeming with 60,000 volumes. It was quite the acquisition, hand-me-down from Milton College. What's really interesting is how hundreds of committed volunteers joined hands to move and install this mammoth library.
Following the acquisition of the Milton library, the college set its sights on a science laboratory.
