Roots of this magnificent tree of learning find their home way back in 1846, when a little Cherokee seminary for women sprung up on the soil of Oklahoma, the heartland of America! However, history did play cruel tricks on us- that idyllic seminary wouldn't last too long.
Fast forward to 1909, when the State Normal School was established for folks passionate about educating minds. Not wanting to put all eggs in one basket, they shifted their educational puzzle pieces around, expanding the platform for knowledge junkies. A few hat tips, hair pulling, and nail-biting later, in 1921, the school sprinted up to become Northeastern State Teacher’s College. Sneaker squeaks and the rustling of text-filled papers must've filled the college hallways. Mamma mia, they'd become a baccalaureate institution!
The 1930’s was a decade of change, the winds of evolution were blowing strong. Show must go on, right? So, the Northeastern State Teacher’s College decided to up their game.
