As of June 1, 2022, this historic merger took place, enriching St. Joe's diverse portfolio of professional programs in health and science, including occupational therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy and physician assistant programs.
But the tale of USciences dates back even earlier, to a chilly February in 1821, when 68 pioneering pharmacists congregated in Philadelphia's Carpenters' Hall. Their mission? To forge an era of improved scientific standards, and "guard the drug market from the introduction of spurious, adulterated, deteriorated or otherwise mischievous articles." Such a lofty initiative promptly led to the inception of the first institution of higher learning in the United States dedicated wholly to the field of pharmacy.
